I started learning Jewelry from my father,
James "Allan" Smithson at the age of 
fourteen. My father owned Smithsons 
Jewelry in Grants Pass, Oregon.  I attended 
Kansas City School of Watchmaking in 
1979 after graduating from High School. 
I began a business in 1993 in the Bellis
Fair Mall and was well known as the 
"Jewelry Guy". In 2002 I moved to the 
current location in Historic Fairhaven and
am now proud to be teaching my son 
Rodney Smithson the family trade.
